1. Introduction

ElectriCheck (“we”, “us”, “our”) provides an AI-assisted web application that generates visual observations from user-submitted images of electrical installations.

We are committed to protecting your privacy and comply with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and disclose personal information when you use ElectriCheck.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Account Information

When you create an account, we may collect:

  • Email address
  • Authentication and session details (managed by Supabase)

We do not store plain-text passwords.

2.2 Uploaded or Captured Content

You may upload images or capture photos using:

  • The ElectriCheck web app (browser camera access)
  • Future iOS or Android applications (if released)

This content may include:

  • Images you submit
  • Notes you enter (including project names and report names)
  • AI-generated visual observations and report outputs

Images may incidentally include personal or identifying information depending on what you upload. Please avoid uploading photos of people or personal documents.

Confidential Mode: If you enable confidential mode, ElectriCheck will generate your report but will not store uploaded photos in the dashboard.

2.3 Reports and Dashboard Data

ElectriCheck may store:

  • Your report text output
  • Your notes and report metadata (e.g., project name / report name)
  • The report timestamp and language selection
  • An image link only when photo storage is enabled

Reports are accessible to the account holder via the dashboard and remain available until deleted by the user (or account deletion is requested).

2.4 Technical and Usage Data

We may automatically collect limited technical data such as:

  • Device and browser type
  • IP address
  • Usage metrics
  • Error logs and performance diagnostics

This data is used for security, reliability, abuse prevention, and service improvement.

2.5 Communications

We collect information you provide when contacting us, including emails or messages sent to our support address.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use collected information to:

  • Provide and operate the ElectriCheck platform
  • Perform AI-assisted processing of images to generate outputs
  • Generate, display, and (where enabled) store reports in your dashboard
  • Improve service performance, reliability, and security
  • Provide customer support and account or billing communications
  • Meet legal and regulatory obligations

We do not use your uploaded images, notes, or reports to train AI models.

4. Storage and Processing (Third-Party Providers)

ElectriCheck uses reputable third-party providers:

4.1 Supabase

  • User authentication
  • Database storage (reports and metadata)
  • Optional image storage (only when confidential mode is disabled)

4.2 Vercel

  • Application hosting and delivery
  • Vercel does not act as a primary long-term storage for your report content

4.3 Google Gemini API

  • Temporary processing of images and text prompts to generate AI outputs
  • Content is processed to provide the Service
  • We do not request model training on your content

4.4 Stripe

  • Payment processing and subscription management
  • ElectriCheck does not store full payment card details

4.5 Email Provider (e.g., transactional emails)

  • Account and billing notifications (where enabled)

5. Data Retention

ElectriCheck retains data as follows:

  • Dashboard reports: stored until you delete them or request account deletion
  • Uploaded photos: stored only when confidential mode is disabled (until deleted), or not stored at all when confidential mode is enabled
  • Account information: retained until account deletion is requested
  • Technical logs: retained according to provider retention policies

ElectriCheck does not automatically expire, archive, or delete reports by default.

6. Disclosure of Information

We disclose personal information only to:

  • Supabase and hosting providers (platform operation and storage)
  • Google Gemini (AI processing)
  • Stripe (payments and subscriptions)
  • Email providers (transactional messages, where enabled)
  • Regulators or authorities where legally required

We do not sell, rent, or trade personal information.

7. International Data Transfers

Data may be stored or processed outside Australia depending on provider infrastructure. We rely on providers that maintain appropriate privacy and security safeguards.

8. Camera and Image Capture Permissions

ElectriCheck may request access to:

  • Camera
  • Photo library or file system
  • Local device storage

If you deny or revoke these permissions, certain features may not function.

9. AI & Visual Observation Disclaimer

ElectriCheck uses AI models that may miss issues, misinterpret images, or produce incomplete outputs. All outputs are visual observations only and must be reviewed, verified, and interpreted by a licensed electrical professional before any decision, action, or energisation.

10. Your Rights

Under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), you may request:

  • Access to personal information we hold about you
  • Correction of inaccurate information
  • Deletion of your account and associated data
  • Export of your data (where reasonably practicable)

11. Children

ElectriCheck is not intended for children under the age of 16.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date will be revised accordingly.
